Cartographica was founded in 1965 and has a strong reputation as a leading journal in the fields of cartography, GIS and information visualization.
The journal publishes a wide range of technical, methodological, historical and theoretical articles in these fields and encourages international submissions.
With the face of geospatial information visualization and mapping changing rapidly, the journal is an appropriate outlet for submissions on the following topics:
1. Theoretical developments, critical cartography/GIS;
2. Geovisualization;
3. The geospatial web, map hacking, and map art.
All submissions are subject to double blind peer review.
Cartographica is fully indexed in citation services (ISI Web of Science, SCOPUS) and is distributed online at University of Toronto Press. We are also applying for ISI Journal Citation Index.
